How I do what I do?
All good consultants will start with some kind of audit.
My whole process is to understand first of all what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, how you’re doing it, how it’s doing, and ask and answer those questions. At the micro level.
Peter Drucker once said “My greatest strength as a consultant is to be ignorant and ask a few questions.”
When I see the picture, when I see how it’s producing, I then compare it to alternatives — competitors, alternative choices, that are not competitive but are similar — then I’m able to assess and diagnose a recommendation.
It’s an assessment of why you either are not getting the results you want.
